Day 21: Plymouth to Probust (near Truro)

We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening sightseeing tour last night with our local guide (Ben Woolvin!) around Plymouth last night including Rockfish for chips and the Plymouth Gin distillery.

Our day began for a very short ride down to the Royal William Yard for breakfast. We had a lovely breakfast on a deck over the marina watching all the boats and enjoying the sunshine!

After breakfast Ben and I took the short Cremyll ferry to Cornwall and started our long morning of slogging up the seemingly endless (steep!) Cornish hills on little lanes crowded with tourists who can’t drive properly.

We took a break at Seaton for a much-needed icecream after a couple of hours and then continued on to Fowey (via another cute ferry) for pasties, which we ate on the sea wall watching the dingy racing of their regatta.

After Fowey the roads were much bigger and consequently the idiot tourists much faster, but at least they were a little bit flatter for my poor legs! When finding ourselves pulled onto the dual carriageway part of the A390 we swiftly exited and re-routed up yet more hills on lovely little lanes to our very fancy B&B suite that Aunty Mandy booked for us during the day (as its Cornwall in August we had no luck ourselves finding anywhere to stay- so it was a case of Mandy to the rescue!)
