It’s not too late to Sponsor me!

I would really appreciate your sponsorship to help motivate me on my 1,600km long ride this summer!

A little bit about the project:

Since it was founded over ten years ago by Kate and Dave Harrison, each year a team of around 30 year 10 (age 15) students and 6 teachers from across our three campuses at the International School of Geneva have worked together as “the India Team”.

We spend six months fundraising in Geneva, meeting and fundraising every week, and then travel together to India in the Easter holidays to work in the three crèches that we have links with: Peach Tree, Little Lilies and Grace Kids Centre.

We call it a Service-Learning project as our students gain so much from all the experiences: from organising whole school events, planning and carrying out the sponsored walks, bake sales, discos and other fundraising events during the Geneva phase and then of course in meeting and working with all the teachers and children at the crèches in India itself.

Just to be clear, all student and staff costs for travel are covered by the students’ parents. All sponsorship money I raise will be donated directly to the crèche projects to support their on-going work with 150 underprivileged village children and their families.

If you wish to find out more about our recent work or the history of the idea, please visit this site created by a student who took part this year, William Purvis  http://indiaproject.lachatweb.ch/
